Yesterday it rained pretty heavily for about an hour. We sat outside and listened as each drop hit the ground. We walked down to the retention basin on our street and listened as the frogs croaked in the rising water. The sound of live frogs was something Logan had never heard before--again, small and simple things...
LOGAN WAS BORN WITH PROGRESSIVE HEARING LOSS. AT AGE 2 HE HAD LOST HIS HEARING COMPLETELY. HE RECEIVED A COCHLEAR IMPLANT IN NOVEMBER OF 2007 AND A SECOND ONE IN DECEMBER OF 2008. THIS IS HIS JOURNEY...

Thats awesome, I wish i can sit outside and listen but haven't got a porch... :-(
I can hear the rain lashing on the top of my car but it's nothing same as it lashing onto ground and giving the grass the fresh scent.
I love it! Makes me wish we had a covered porch!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Seems so simple, yet just amazing!
How beautiful! It's incredible how much you notice once you have a deaf child, isn't it? I had a similar experience at a football game recently, really noticing sounds around me. I can't wait until my son has his implant and can join me in noticing them.
Hi,
We found your blog through Drew's blog. This post made cry. :) It is the simple things that we desire for our children isn't it. It is amazing how our deaf children tuned us parents into the sounds around us. Thank you for this post!
